Today, the team of walkers making their way to Canberra should arrive in our Nation’s Capital having been on the road since April 29th starting in Newcastle, coming south to Sydney and then journeying on to Canberra.

All proceeds will help Save Our Sons raise much needed funds to find a cure for DMD (Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy) AND also to raise awareness about this fatal form of muscular dystrophy which is characterized by an aggressive muscle degeneration that leads to inability to walk and eventually death.

As a part of the walk Save Our Sons founder Elie Eid will push his son Emilio, a sufferer of DMD in a wheelchair from Sydney all the way to Parliament House in Canberra.  Not only is this a test of strength and endurance - this symbolises a father’s fight to save his son.  The wheelchair symbolises the harsh reality that families with children who suffer from DMD go through. The wheelchair is where the children with DMD end up and all the parents are left with when their children suffering this fatal disease pass away.
