LAW 9000
In February 2005 we were one of the 1st 3 firms in New South Wales to achieve Law 9000 quality certification.
What is Law 9000?
Law 9000 is a stringent quality certification specifically tailored to the legal industry. It incorporates the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System standards.
Only businesses and products that are quality certified are permitted to display the prestigious "5 tick" symbol shown here. You may have seen the "5 tick" symbol on products you have purchased. Law 9000 certifies that our systems and processes including the way in which we provide services to our clients meet quality standards.

Certification Process
The certification process spanned many months culminating in a rigorous audit by external consultants. Dooley & Associates collaborated with other law firms to form the 1st "cluster group" to undergo the Law 9000 certification process.
The audit examined every aspect of our business to ensure that it met quality standards. Some of the key areas audited were:
- The firm's commitment to quality;
- Our commitment to ensuring client satisfaction;
- Our processes for delivering legal services;
- Our business and risk management plans;
- Our Human Resource practices;
- Professional obligations of the legal industry; and
- Continuous improvement of the firm.
We exceeded the requirements to achieve Law 9000 and ISO 9001:2000 certification, the auditors saying amongst other positive remarks:
- "…staff were knowledgeable and competent"
- "client communication appeared to be a particular strength"
- "the practice has a highly developed system of checklists, forms and precedents"
- "…its existing systems were very well implemented with a strong focus on continual improvement".
Ongoing Audits
Law 9000 certification is subject to an audit every 9 months to ensure that we continually maintain and improve our quality standards. This ensures that our commitment to quality, our clients and Law 9000 remains strongly embedded in the firm's culture and practices.
BEST PRACTICE (QUALITY IN LAW)
Dooley & Associates' long-term commitment to quality and achieving certification started with certification to Best Practice (Quality in Law).
In November 2001 we were one of the 1st few firms in New South Wales to achieve the industry recognised Quality in Law certification.
BEST PRACTICE LAWYERS GROUP
We regularly meet with other law firms to share ideas and knowledge regarding quality systems. This helps us to remain at the forefront of developments in the industry and to continuously improve and provide superior legal services. Informally we collaborate with other businesses on a one-on-one basis to share the benefits of networking and collaboration.
